Hna. Jessica Keele- Feb. 21, 2011

Hola Familia!

Wahoooo!!! We have a baptism this weekend that I´m super excited about!!! :) He´s a capo! [fabulous, great?] He´s 15. His name´s Alexis (I´m noticing a lot of differences in the names we use for boys and girls haha). His parents were in the list of old investigators, and we passed by and had 5 minute lessons in the door way but they never invited us in because they were always too busy.

Well about 3-4 weeks ago Alexis answered the door. He said that he goes to the Evangelical church with his girlfriend. We asked him if he had ever been to our church, and he said no because the 2 Americans that promised to pick him up never went to get him. But when we were talking to him he didn´t act like he was interested in going because of his girlfriend. Well, that Sunday we had a meeting 40 minutes away and a few dilemmas before church and weren´t sure if it was worth going to get him because he lives far from the church. We decided to call him and see if he was really going to go, but his phone was off so we figured he was sleeping or didn´t want go. So we didn´t go get him.

Later that week we went to visit them again and he said he was waiting for us :( Aww. We felt so bad. So that week we promised we would pick him up. Long story short, we ALMOST didn´t because Satan's tricky. But the good news is we did! It was the same day as Rolando´s baptism. We ran out of phone credit. Rolando was no where to be found so we were stressed out enough as it was. But we went in a taxi and picked Alexis up and the baptism went smoothly! :) And now Alexis is going to be baptized this Saturday! He told his mom yesterday and she wanted him to think about it more. But he said no, I feel like it´s my time, and for the first time his mom invited us in AND she came to a family night with us at the church! Alexis wasn´t even there!

Everyone in the ward loves Alexis too. He´s only been 3 times but everyone knows him, and we have absolutely no fellowshipping problems. It´s actually the opposite. We have problems trying to talk with him when he´s in church. He has his own paparazzi! haha

Anyway, I´m really excited about this week!! :) And now I have to go, but I love you all!!! Keep being good.
Love,
Jess
